Holiday Light Exchange
Let Roseville Electric brighten your holidays with energy-saving holiday lights.
Advances in technology have brought a new light to the holiday season. Roseville Electric wants to introduce you to the energy saving benefits of light emitting diode (LED) holiday lights by allowing you to exchange your old incandescent holiday lights for new ENERGY STAR ® LED lights at no cost to you.
Beginning Tuesday November 3, 2015, Roseville Electric will host it's 6th Annual Holiday Light Exchange. Roseville residents with an active electric account have an opportunity to exchange old incandescent holiday lights for new LED holiday lights, up to three strands per household.
Your old holiday lights will be recycled by SIMS Recycling Solutions allowing you to save energy while protecting our environment.
Bring up to three (3) strands of your old incandescent holiday lights and a current Roseville Electric bill to the Roseville Utility Exploration Center, 1501 Pleasant Grove Blvd., Roseville [map it], inside the Martha Riley Library building between Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm. If you have more than three (3) strands to recycle you are welcome to bring those too; exchanges are limited to three (3) per household.
This program is designed to encourage Roseville Electric customers to use LED light technology by experiencing the energy saving benefits. The exchange program will be available while supplies last. Benefits of LED Lights
LED bulbs have numerous benefits when compared to traditional incandescent lighting.
- Saves energy: LED lights are up to 90 percent more efficient than incandescent lights.
- Long lasting: LED lights consist of solid-state construction, making them less likely to break when compared to conventional lights. According to the Department of Energy, the best white LED's have been found to have a useful life of about 35,000 hours, or four years of continuous operation. Also, when one light goes out on a decorative holiday strand, the others stay lit.
- Safety: The epoxy plastic that encapsulated LED bulbs is cool to the touch
