Roseville Electric offers free educational, interactive, exciting electrical safety demonstrations for your class.
All classroom demonstrations are conducted by Roseville Electric's Community Relations Coordinator Matthew Davis. He will provide students with an interactive electrical safety demonstration.
Kindergarten through 4th Grade: Students are given the Hometown Hazard electrical safety demonstration. Next students will watch a video, "Kat's Electrical Safety Adventure." Students will learn about specific scenarios from watching the video that are both safe and unsafe (i.e.: poking toaster with a knife and touching frayed wires.) The goal is for students to recognize unsafe actions and avoid them. Finally, students will be given coloring books, crayons and other safety information to take home. Teachers are given the option to get follow up materials to incorporate into future lesson plans.
Fifth through 8th Grade: Students are given the Hazard Hamlet electrical safety demonstrations. Next, students will watch a short video, "The Shocking Truth." Students will then be asked to create their own electrical safety home checklist (paper and pencils provided) to share with their families to help keep them safe. Finally, students will be given activity books to further reinforce the safety demonstration and video's important message. Teachers will be given the option to get follow up materials to incorporate into future lesson plans.
