Business Partners

The City of Roseville works with several partners that offer a variety of services and assistance for businesses.

AccessPoint SACTO received a grant from the Sacramento Employment Training Agency to develop a brochure outlining all the federal, state, and local programs that are available to businesses in the areas of financial, technical and workforce-related assistance. The intent of the brochure is that it serve as a resource to the businesses in our community. Their hope is to get the brochure into the hands of as many businesses in the region as possible so that they can avail themselves of programs or assistance to help them through this difficult economic time.

California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED) CALED has a new tool to assist in job and business retention by providing local companies with a CALED engineering based cost segregation study that allows them to dramatically increase their operational cash flow by accelerating their asset depreciation on Federal taxes. This program will provide a no cost analysis of the potential cash benefits available. Fees for the actual study are totally contingent on the benefit received. There is no risk involved for the company, and no cost to the economic development organization. You can download a flyer about the program here.

CalJobs
Program operated by the California Employment Development Department that provides Workforce Investment Act job training and employment services to adults and youth. CalJobs helps employers find training and employees, and also offers tax credit programs for qualifying employees.

Employment Development Department The California Employment Development Department (EDD) is a multi-faceted department offering a variety of services under the Job Service, Unemployment Insurance and Disability Insurance programs. As the designated agency for employment services and the nation’s largest employment agency, EDD offers employers a variety of assistance, including job recruitment, screening and hiring assistance, tax credits for hiring targeted individuals, labor market information, and assistance with unemployment and disability insurance questions and concerns. A One-Stop Career Center is located in Roseville at 115 Ascot Dr. Ste 180.  916.865.2440

The Federal Technology Center (FTC)  The mission of The Federal Technology Center (The FTC) is to promote economic development by facilitating technology transfer between government and the private sector, and by helping small businesses successfully compete for government contracts. 916.334.9388

Golden Sierra Job Training Agency The Golden Sierra One-Stop Career Center system is available to employers and job seekers alike. The purpose of the system is two-fold. It is designed to provide workforce preparation services to job seekers increasing the employment, employment retention, and earnings of the local workforce. In addition, the One-Stops are to provide services to businesses that will enhance the productivity and competitiveness of the local and regional economy. 916.652.0933

Micro-Loan Guarantee Program California Capital is dedicated to promoting small business growth by providing financing to businesses. The purpose of the Micro-Loan Guarantee Program is to provide a means to offer small loans of $35,000 or less to businesses unable to obtain financing simply by virtue of the amount of the loan requested. The focus of this program includes, but is not limited to women, minorities, disabled persons, and businesses in enterprise zones. 916.442.1729

Northern California World Trade CenterThe Northern California World Trade Center (NorCalWTC) is the Sacramento region's largest and most influential international business organization, affiliated with the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) in New York City. Their mission is to facilitate international business in Northern California by offering a one-stop-shop for EDUCATION, RESOURCES, and CONNECTIONS that help businesses succeed in the global marketplace and advance citizen diplomacy.

Placer County Office of Economic Development 530.889.4016 The Placer County Economic Development Department provides demographics and special industry reports on-line. In addition, there are several programs and services offered through the County to assist both employers and those seeking jobs.

Employment Training Panel The Employment Training Panel (ETP) assists businesses in acquiring and retraining skilled workers by subsidizing employer training for individuals who have exhausted their unemployment insurance. 530.889.4061

  • CalWORKs The CalWORKs program offers employers the opportunity to recruit potential employees from a resource of newly trained individuals. Placer County CalWORKs maintains a pool of 600-800 individuals who are ready for work. Employer Tax Credit is available to businesses that hire CalWORKs clients. In certain cases, CalWORKs can provide the tools necessary for new employees to do their job as well as to receive transportation and child-care assistance. There are no charges to employers or clients. 530.889.4061
  • The Business Advantage The Business Advantage Network is a group of local Workforce Development professionals who combine their resources to meet the needs of Placer County businesses and job seekers. Twice a year they provide free job fairs to support the business community and job seekers in Placer County. Throughout the year they offer free, on-going support to businesses by providing services for recruitment; training and financial incentives such as partial wage reimbursements and tax credits for hiring qualified individuals. Business Development representatives are available to take information on job opening and to spread the word to qualified job seekers through their network of dedicated professionals. Individual hiring events and interview space can also be arranged through the network to meet the needs of small and large businesses. 530.889.4090 or 530.886.4641

Roseville Chamber of Commerce The Roseville Chamber provides a wide variety of programs and services to support businesses of all sizes in the greater Roseville and Granite Bay area. 916.783.8136

The Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization (SACTO) is the six-county Sacramento Region's headquarters for business and economic development.

As the region's leading facilitator of economic development, SACTO ensures the region's prosperity and global competitiveness by bringing together the organizations, information and resources in the pursuit of quality jobs, talent and investment to the region. Established in 1975, SACTO is a private, non-profit and member-supported economic development organization.

SACTO has been involved in nearly every major new company location to the area and instrumental in the recruitment of some of the world's most prestigious companies, including HP, Intel and NEC Electronics. Combining research, professional economic development practices and member guidance, SACTO's efforts have generated hundreds of millions of dollars of investment in the region's economy.

Sacramento Area Regional Technology Alliance (SARTA)  SARTA is a tech-focused 501(c)(3) corporation established in 2001 to support entrepreneurial programs, companies and technology investment throughout Butte, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Solano, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba counties. 916.231.0770

Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce As the largest and most influential business organization in the Sacramento region, the Metro Chamber champions positions on a range of issues from small business and regulatory affairs to transportation, workforce development, and flood protection. The Metro Chamber believes that issues impacting our economy and quality of life are regional in nature, crossing political and jurisdictional boundaries. They encourage a cooperative approach to address and solve important issues.

Sierra Economic Development District (SEDD)
The Sierra Economic Development District (SEDD) assists businesses by providing information in the following areas; federal and state funding, federal and state loan programs, bidding for state projects, import/export marketing, socio-economic data and trends, and other information resources for the business community. They also provide Micro-loans up to $35,000 for qualifying businesses. 530.823.4703

SkillsMatch from Prove It! SkillsMatch provides skills and behavioral assessments for clerical, software, technical, call center, industrial, financial, legal, medical, and other professions. SkillsMatch works with the Golden Sierra One-Stop Career Center System to help empower the local workforce.

UC Davis InnovationAccess, formerly Technology Industry Alliances / UC Davis CONNECT, is part of the Office of Research. We provide services that connect research to the marketplace and are focused specifically on protecting and commercializing intellectual property, and fostering entrepreneurship within the campus community.
