The BAC will provide policy guidance for implementing the City’s Economic Development Strategy’s action items, identify trends and the need for new proactive programs and policy, allow participation and input from the City’s Top 50 employers with knowledge on what is needed for business expansion and retention, and to allow those involved in the City’s economic development efforts, Councilmembers included, to hear directly from business on a regular basis. The formation of the BAC was approved by Council in April 2008. Staff is currently working to establish the DBAT and anticipates inviting participants for the BAC at the end of the calendar year.
