California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED) CALED has a new tool to assist in job and business retention by providing local companies with a CALED engineering based cost segregation study that allows them to dramatically increase their operational cash flow by accelerating their asset depreciation on Federal taxes. This program will provide a no cost analysis of the potential cash benefits available. Fees for the actual study are totally contingent on the benefit received. California Employment Advisory Council (Foothills area) The Foothill Employer Advisory Council to the Employment Development Department is committed to providing opportunities for information resources, networking, education and services, strengthening the links between EDD and employers and facilitating local economic growth that benefits the community. They contribute to and support local programs for education as well as the employment and the quality of life of military veterans.

California Small Business Loan Guarantee Program The purpose of this program is to encourage local banks and non-bank lenders to make small to medium-sized business loans that are not traditionally bankable by providing the lender with additional security for a credit request in the form of a guarantee, which serves as an incentive to approve a commercial credit request it might not normally consider.

Employment Development Department The California Employment Development Department (EDD) is a multi-faceted department offering a variety of services under the Job Service, Unemployment Insurance and Disability Insurance programs. As the designated agency for employment services and the nation’s largest employment agency, EDD offers employers a variety of assistance, including job recruitment, screening and hiring assistance, tax credits for hiring targeted individuals, labor market information, and assistance with unemployment and disability insurance questions and concerns. Employment Training Panel The Employment Training Panel (ETP) assists businesses in acquiring and retraining skilled workers by subsidizing employer training for individuals who have exhausted their unemployment insurance. (530) 889-4061
- CalWORKs The CalWORKs program offers employers the opportunity to recruit potential employees from a resource of newly trained individuals. Placer County CalWORKs maintains a pool of 600-800 individuals who are ready for work. Employer Tax Credit is available to businesses that hire CalWORKs clients. In certain cases, CalWORKs can provide the tools necessary for new employees to do their job as well as to receive transportation and child-care assistance. - The Business Advantage The Business Advantage Network is a group of local Workforce Development professionals who combine their resources to meet the needs of Placer County businesses and job seekers. Twice a year they provide free job fairs to support the business community and job seekers in Placer County. Throughout the year they offer free, on-going support to businesses by providing services for recruitment; training and financial incentives such as partial wage reimbursements and tax credits for hiring qualified individuals. Business Development representatives are available to take information on job opening and to spread the word to qualified job seekers through their network of dedicated professionals.
