Gina Garbolino, a native of the Netherlands and 40-year resident of Roseville, currently serves the citizens of Roseville as Mayor. She was appointed to the Roseville City Council on March 14, 2001, and as the highest vote recipient in the 2002 election served as Mayor Pro Tem for two years before being sworn in as the Mayor of Roseville in November 2004. She was again the highest vote recipient in the November 2006 election and served the first two years of her term as Mayor Pro Tem before being sworn in as Mayor of Roseville on Dec. 2, 2008.
Prior to serving as a Councilmember, Mayor Garbolino served as a Parks and Recreation Commissioner for 11 years, was a member of the 1990-1992 General Plan Update Committee, and was on the City’s Revitalization Blue Ribbon Committee.
Mayor Garbolino has been involved with the Roseville Chamber as a member for 26 years, including service as a Board Member and 1997 Chamber President. She was the recipient of the prestigious Athena Award in 1993 and serves as Chair of the Chamber’s Leadership Roseville program.
Community involvement includes service as a Board member for the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Placer County for six years; three- time President of Advocacy, Resources and Choices (ARC); Past Board Member for Roseville Art Center; Advisory Board member for the Performing Arts of Roseville; current Board member of the Keaton Raphael Memorial.
For 17 years, she worked in marketing and business development for First American Title in South Placer, with broad-based responsibilities in the areas of promotional, residential, and new homes, including industry relations with the Placer County Board of Realtors. She then was Vice President of Community Development for the Bank of Commerce-Roseville, a position she held for eight years until she retired in 2008.
Mayor Garbolino attended the University at San Francisco and Sierra College.
Mayor Garbolino has been married for 43 years to Judge James Garbolino (Ret). They have two married daughters and four grandchildren.
